Birch firewood is pretty useful. There are several different species of birch and they are usually fast growing species. For the purpose of firewood, black birch and yellow birch are the best species to burn. White birch and grey birch are both average species.

Aspen is a good choice for firewood. It burns brightly and the soft wood is easy to saw. The supply is ample in aspen-growing areas. The bark is very dry and makes good tinder for starting a fire. It is not toxic and will not clog your chimney with ash like other firewood.
